  • How many days are the schools?
For riders 11 years old and younger the classes are one day
For riders 12 and older the classes are two days
  • Do you rent bikes?
    No
  • Do we stay there?
Nearby hotel and campground information is sent to you in a conformation letter after you are signed up for a school and you have paid your $50 deposit.  You can camp at the track for free but there are no hookups.
  • Can we leave our bikes and/or trailer at the school overnight?
Yes, your trailer can be left in the pit area and we do have a building you can leave your bike in but we are not responsible for them.
  • Do we provide food?
    No
  • How old do you need to be?
To enter into the younger classes, you must be between the ages of 6 and 11.  For the two-day classes you must be at least 12 years of age and up.
  • What size bike do you need to have?
The younger groups must have either 50’s or 60’s, and the older group start at 80’s and up.
  • Does Gary travel?
Unfortunately, he doesn’t.  He teaches at his personal track in Lisbon, Ohio in the spring, summer and fall.  During the winter months he does some teaching in Georgia at the Georgia Practice Facility and in Bushnell, Florida.   He does have a list of trained GSMXS instructors who do travel and they can be reached through our web page.
  • Do you accept beginner riders at your schools?
If you have been riding and going to practice tracks to ride you could come to one of
our group schools.  However, if you have not gotten to the practice tracks yet and need
more instruction then you need to take a semi-private lesson with one of our instructors.
  • Do woods riders benefit from our schools?
Yes, they do because of the fact that all techniques are the same.
  • Where is the track?
Gary’s personal track is located in Lisbon, Ohio, right off of ST RT 45 on Eagleton Road.
  • When are schools?
Group Class Schools at Gary’s Private Track in Lisbon Ohio start at the end of April and go through October.
  • When are private and semi private lessons held?
They are held by appointment only from April through October.  Gary teaches pro riders and David, Gary’s stepson, teaches amateurs in private lessons.
  • How much are the classes?
Two-day classes are $300.00 and the one-day classes are $175.00.  A $50.00 deposit is required for the two-day classes and a $35.00 is required for one-day classes.  Also, David is the one who teaches the younger group.
  • Do other instructors travel?
Yes, all the other instructors travel.  For more information please go to our web site
at the bottom of our school’s page.
  • How many riders are in each class?
Usually the classes range from 10-15 riders.  Try to make your reservations early because classes do fill up fast.
  • What should we bring to the school?
You need to bring everything you would take to a race.  Bike, protective gear, fuel,
parts, tools, lunch, plenty to drink etc.

Questions about selecting DVDs

  • How old are the DVDs?
The oldest was produced in 1992.  At this time the newest production is 2006.  The techniques are still the same; only the bikes and gear look different.  At the end of every DVD description will be the copyright date (example CR 2006). You can also find the copyright date just under the DVD title in the DVD preview description windows.
  • There are so many DVDs; which one/ones should I order?
There are two Technique Series Volumes (Technique Series Volume I including DVDs 1 through 9 and Series Volume II including DVDs 1 through 3).  Then there are some one off DVDs, two CDs and a Motocross Practice Manual.  It’s fine to buy an entire Series or buy them in order but you don’t have to.  The best way is to read the DVD descriptions.  Some DVDs are broad; covering a lot of different techniques and some are more specialized; going more in depth on certain techniques and subjects.  If you have any questions contact Cindy (cindy@gsmxs.com or Gary gary@gsmxs.com).
  • With all the new 4 strokes do the older DVDs still apply?
Yes; 2 stroke or 4 stroke, the techniques are still the same.  Of course, there is a different feel between the two but the riding techniques are the same.
  • Are these DVDs good for all ages?
Most of the DVDs are beneficial for even the youngest riders.  The ones that are not are the fitness training DVDs like; Eliminating Armpump and The MX Conditioning.
  • Are the Technique DVDs good for Off Road Riders too?
Yes, the techniques apply to the motorcycle and rider.
  • What are the differences between the two # 3 DVDs about jumping and whoops?
    # 3 in Volume I was produced in 1994; # 3 in Volume II was produced in 2006.  The newer DVD has more techniques.
  • What DVD has air time?
Our Private MX Lesson DVD and both #3 DVDs teach air time.
  • What DVD teaches how to whip the bike?
Our Private MX Lesson DVD and both #3 DVDs teach whipping the bike.
  • Which DVD teaches starts?
DVDs #2, #4 volume I and DVD #2 volume II
  • How are the DVDs shipped?
They are shipped US Priority Mail, and that usually takes between 7-10 business days from the date ordered in the US.  We do ship outside the US using Priority Mail but
delivery time is longer and it varies with each country.
